Well, Christmas IS about family togetherness. (Frank really should’ve gotten to those things about which Brad was questioning.)

We never had enough lights for that to be a major issue. ;)

If the orange extension cord is still OK, save it. Throw the lights all away. Replace them with long lasting LED types. The colors are much deeper and they draw about 80% less energy. They also do not run hot and lessen the chance of a fire.

Some fun family tradition. To bad they don’t drag Luann into it.

Why is Brad putting up lights at his parents’ house instead of the home he shares with Toni and TJ?

There’s also a subtle message about the problem of hoarding in the second panel.

Why on earth would they label a box “lites (broken)”? For one thing, they might as well have written “lights”. Seriously – would one more letter have taken up that much space? Secondly, why would they keep broken lights? They don’t work, so why would the keep them around?

I have 3 reels of lights and I only use one string now as I have tree made out of tomato cones, lights and garlands. I keep it under a garbage bag in the back during the rest of the year. On the other side of house, I have a laser beam with santa, snowmen, stars or snow. Then lighted wreaths on front door and a front shed. Takes a few minutes.

Our community now has a place to bring lights to be recycled. How about yours? That way you don’t feel bad keeping them instead of putting them in a landfill.

Forget about the problem of how proteins are coiled up, Christmas lights are much complicated and important.

Yep. Nothing says “Merry Christmas,” than wasting that electricity certain “folks” have been BERATING One to Conserve, all Year on a Holiday that those same “folks” are determined to separate from any and ALL ‘Religious’ significances.

Oh, Waitperson? COFFFEE, Please! For verily I see EVIL approaches…..,

This time, Brad, YOU can take down all the lights and put them away in a proper, organized fashion.

I’m with Brad. I take them down and put them in their original boxes. It might take a longer time than just throwing them in some cardboard box, but they are ready for next time and will last longer. We have strands that are over 20 years old and still working.

Looks like an old file cartoon created for anytime Greg needs some filler. Can’t blame him, it must be almost impossible to be fresh and creative, every day for year after year.

In many places, fire fighters will put all sorts of lights to decorate their stations. I’m sure they have been doing as Brad has suggested to his ‘dear old dad’!

Some also make the lights blink in sync with Christmas music and micro-broadcast it. Folks will come to look at the lights, and tune in to listen. Some displays are pretty cool!

Plus, I know most Sunday strips are stand-alone strips, but from the just previous arc, maybe Brad had other ‘plans’ involving Toni!! ;)

Brad is being the Good Son, while Frank is being the Inefficient Dad. Talk about family bonding that is not “a fun family tradition”!
