Yeah, the woman in your cartoon is obnixious, but being obnoxious is no excuse for treating them as second class citizens.
This has nothing to do with misogyny any more than it does on misandry. The guy in the striped pants represents Uncle Sam who represents everyone both male and female. It is a simple question of whether or not government should be responsible for funding birth control, which impacts upon both sexes. Holding a viewpoint on any issue will always have opponents, and does not imply hatred by either side.
Birth control is not “ridiculously inexpensive” for someone working a minimum wage job. And access to contraception and sex education is the one sure way to reduce the number of abortions requested. States with the easiest access to abortions are also the states with the lowest per capita rate of abortions and unplanned pregnancies because they also have the best sex education programs AND the easiest access to contraception.
I’m a man, why should I have to pay for your mammograms? I think I need a mammogram. I’m a man, why should I have to pay for your pap smears? Remind me to get my PSA checked. I shouldn’t have to pay for your birth control pills! Where did all these unwanted children come from? I need to go get my viagra filled now.
Mike is just another guy who knows all about women’s health, and what’s best for the little ladies. Now, cut off Viagra, don’t know if they’re covering Cialis yet.
It is in everyone’s best interests to promote (and pay for) birth control in this World with nearly 8 billion people and resources for, probably, 1/10th that, in perpetuity, for the sake of our progeny.
They DO pay for it. They have insurance that they PAY FOR. They think birth control – which IS sometimes expensive, there’s not just one kind – should be included in the insurance that they PAY FOR. They don’t want to pay for it TWICE, when it should already be covered.
