Some Republican-run states that did expand Medicaid stand to lose out, including Louisiana, Cassidy’s home. On Monday, Louisiana’s top health official, Rebekah Gee, wrote an open letter to Cassidy saying that his bill could cost the state $3.2 billion in federal funding through 2026, “making Louisiana the 8th biggest loser of those states affected by the Legislation, and by far the poorest and sickest state affected by these cuts.”
I posted this comment in a different room. Jimmy Kimmel is very upset about being lied to by Cassidy about this bill. It seems Cassidy told him that it was very well prepared and that it was well thought out and would do more than he said, help more than he said. For the last 2 or 3 days Jimmy Kimmel has been ranting on his program about being lied to his face by Cassidy. Kimmel’s pretty popular and he reaches a lot of people. And this bill can still get shut down. Maybe the same three will vote no? Maybe?
Of course it will be different this time. The American people’s interests has moved on to other things, they are no longer paying attention, so we GOP will be able to slip this one by them. Gotcha!
It will be different this time because they stopped pretending this was about healthcare. This latest attempt to get that pig to fly is by far the more far-reaching. As in previous Republican repeal efforts, Graham-Cassidy would immediately remove the individual and employer mandates to sign up for health insurance, two ACA requirements — with tax penalties for failure to comply — that have been unpopular with the public. The Graham-Cassidy bill would give states more discretion with health care funds. Tax credits, Obamacare-era subsidies and Medicaid expansion dollars would be eliminated. Instead, states would receive block grants to allocate as they determine. How much money each state would receive would depend on a complicated formula that factors in population size and resident wages, and states would not have to spend money to increase health insurance coverage.
Details matter, like in health care or other bills. Which, Lisa has a “hot shot” with a cord?? Man, dragging that extension cord out there must really build some muscles!

It’s very different this time.
It’s a different group of Republicans telling lies, and
A different set of lies.
But the goal is the same — tax cuts for the rich.

What was Einstein said about doing something over and over and expecting a different result? Oh yeah, the definition of insanity.

I think I see the problem, they are going to need an adapter for the plug in.
