David, yesterday we visited both the wax museum and Ripley’s. The visitor’s center is a few doors down from both of them. And we had lunch at Fuddrucker’s. There used to be one in CA where we lived, but it went under years ago. I always liked them, but had forgotten how expensive they can be.
We do plan on doing the Riverwalk, perhaps taking the boat tour and the Mission tour is high on our list, too. We have 2 four-day weekends in a row, so we have plenty of time to see what we want. Thank you for the restaurant recommendation.
Today is supposed to get pretty warm, 87 even though it is still pretty cloudy. Then tomorrow goes back down to the mid 70’s with bright sunshine. Weird.
Nothing much going on here, either. Dang, Jan is the only one out and about! All your sight-seeing sounds great.
We both seem to have picked up a cough, sure hope it isn’t the flu! We planned on getting our flu shots next week. Hope we’re well enough to get them then.
Good evening Vagabonds, well today was really pleasant here in Mid-MO with a high of 75, unfortunately it won’t carry into tomorrow we will be lucky to see 60.
Jan, your sightseeing sounds fantastic. I miss going on adventures like that, seeing and trying different things. Maybe some day. :)
Well I have a few more things to read and do. Having the whole family over for dinner after church tomorrow.
The good weather keeps coming on with temp from 70 to 75 today. Looks like rain from Tues to Thurs. Not sure how much.
Don’t know what I am going be doing today. Could be any number of things.
Glad you are enjoying your trip Jan. We couldn’t do anything like that as it would involve too much walking which Barbara can’t do with the arthritis in her back. She uses a cane to help her balance so she has to go slow and rest every so often.
A few clouds in the sky this morning and still warm. As with Arthur it gets cooler and damper starting Tuesday through to Thursday.
Normal Sunday activities church, chicken drums for dinner and football. (ho-hum)
Oy, last week of October already, when I was working time would drag by so bad there was a deep groove in the floor, now there’s a flash and a sonic boom and it’s gone. (0.0)
Mark, you nailed it about the passage of time. It seems like there is not enough time in the day to do what we want, even though we really don’t have all that much to do. (Did that make any sense at all?)
Yesterday we did the River Walk. We took the boat tour and then walked around the loop of the river. The San Antonio river takes an odd bend into the heart of the city. We had supper at “Durty Nellie’s” Irish Pub (yes, that’s how it is spelled). I had a real Irish shepherd’s pie and it was fabulous.
Tomorrow we plan to visit the Alamo and have earmarked the whole day for it. Today is a day of rest. We plan to a attend a nearby “Cowboy Church” later, but not much else. The forecast is for 78 and sunny, although currently it is raining. The humidity levels have risen to rival what we experienced in Whitney. Hopefully they will go back down again soon.
Well, I just got my Crusty Bread in the oven. Such little effort for such great tasting bread! Of course, I substituted some whole wheat flour and some wheat bran for some of the regular flour. But, the taste is still awesome. It’ll be ready in a half hour, and needs some time to cool. Y’all come on by for brunch.
Arthur, your Barbara sounds a lot like me. I want to go, go, go, but need all the help I can get. My arthritis is worse because of the anti-estrogen drug I’m on that dries out the joints. And then my balance is worse because of the chemo drug affecting the nerve endings in my toes. BUT…..thank God for those drugs!!!!
Great autumn weather still…..57 yesterday, and a warm 44 during the night. Love it!
