This is why I never understood the female compulsion for guys to “stop and ask directions”. I tried that once and got sent way out into the country, far from where I wanted to go. Thankfully, the ask-directions-argument is kind of a moot point now with Google Maps. Back then (pre Google nav), I much preferred looking at a printed map that had been prepared by professionals over asking some disinterested stranger.
