Mom texts never end. I still text the kid who now lives on the other coast and he’s over 30. A long time ago, I told him, some things are required of moms. It’s in our job description.
Our son (first year college student) is somewhat remiss in replying to our texts. Last week we sent him a package of things he forgot to bring. The day after USPS tracking indicated that the package had been delivered she sent the following text – “Did you get the package?” No reply of course. So she sent the following:
They’ll thank her when they they’re older. Jan’s not a helicopter parent, but she’s engaged with her children’s well being even when she can’t be present. That’s called good parenting.
For us we did not have cell phones when our children was little back then, I know cell phones now smart phones been around. Been best if then school talk through internet email.I know late on this post. I was gone for 3 days from vacation time. I could not bring my lap top and no smart phone or tablet.

Didn’t anyone else think the style of today’s strip is very different to her other strips? (including other Sundays)

Quit sending him any extra spending money except for the necessities.

In my day, no internet or cellphones, but my mom left analog text messages on a piece of paper. I seem to remember having the same reaction, though.
