I love it when they include the old comic characters, but usually it’s at the retirement home for the old comic strips. This is certainly an unexpected twist, and I bet the search for Rufus arc is going to be a lot of fun!

Please Joel, don’t go over to the King Comics unless you want to see some guy in a cheap suit and a suitcase pay GoComics a visit tomorrow.

In the background we faintly hear a recitation of the Gettysburg Address.

Detective Casey can find Rufus. If Stacy can find Annie, he can surely find Rufus!

Hey! I like this turn! Between this and the Elam story, this strip might get interesting again!

By the by, when did Scancarelli change the header on this strip? It’s reminiscent of Terry and the Pirates. Moreover, since historically, characters in this strip have aged near “real time,” are we about to lose someone to the Old Comics Home?

I didn’t know Joel can travel between comics. Now he’s in Dick Tracy. We had a callback to B.O. Plenty several months ago, when Walt was designing a combination oven/refrigerator/TV/whatever. It reminded Skeezix of the “stove with the built-in TV” the Plenty family had.

Wow! I am hopeful Joel will visit a whole plethora of different strips! Mr. Scancarelli…. I am very, very appreciative of your fine work!!!! This should be wonderfully fun!

So… am I stoned or is the strip? (I’m kidding.. also ripping off Doonesbury. It is pretty trippy, in a fun way, though!)

I could never tell what was up with B.O.‘s hat. The way it’s drawn, it looks like hard plastic.
