If it means the party pays attention to the needs of the working man, there’s no shame in that slogan. If it’s smoke and mirrors, that’s another story. And the country will suffer because of it.

The Democratic party has the same problem the Republican party has, they push their political agenda which is mostly about being elected and don’t really listen much. People are just totally fed up with our spineless representatives who spend half their time raising money for their party and the other half fighting mindless battles. None of them are focused on the issues facing the country and trying to do something to insure we are a vibrant, successful society going forward.

Considering the low approval ratings of Congress no matter who is in charge, it’s rather obvious that the voice of the people is completely muffled, while whispers, nods and winks from lobbyists or the wealthy propel Congress into producing legislation. It seems that this would be a good time for a new party or parties to emerge that work for the people, but while the time is right the two “opposing” parties have embedded themselves deeply into the political infrastructure in most states making it an onerous task for any newcomer to have a voice.

The Republican ship of state is just out of the frame. Captain trump has bashed an iceberg, is on fire, and sinking.

Wow, we better HOPE the Democrat program doesn’t get many recruits. Best we Republicans start to discredit it now before that happens. Well done, Lisa.

Conservatives gloat until they get sick and then find out that Conservative governments don’t give anything for their welfare. McCain has his, but he’s making sure you don’t!

There won’t be any problem with finding recruits to replace the incompetent Republicans in the current session. They offer a much better deal than the President has been able to deliver on.

Wow, reading these comments tells me the Democrats are going to sweep the 2018 elections! Well we’ll see what happens then. Never know those ingenious Russkies may be active again and steal the election! Ha, ha, ha, GMaB.

Lisa, do you really want your four children and future grandchildren to grow up in a world where investigations and cracking down on pollution is fixed by political donations? Indiana Harbor Coke Co. – YUGE Trump donors, polluting East Chicago after Pruitt made a big show about how the poisons would be cleaned up. You like infrastructure being determined by who is the highest bidder? Only getting toll roads or expensive water that way.

It would be nice if they got some knowledgeable, high tech VC people on that boat to help break up the oligopolies and got some real consumer friendly competitive startups going to break the strangle holds. The cable companies (e.g.) are getting really desperate as they are continuing to lose subscribers and want to eliminate net-neutrality so they can stifle their competition. We really need to examine whether the M&A’s are actually benefitting the capitalist mode’ free market or not.

Trump does not seem to actually care about growing businesses as much as he does about culling any non-loyal from his supporters by reversing positions he campaigned on until he has only the ultra-loyal core left who do not care what he says.

Why is Benson ignoring what today’s GOP is offering … Government of, by, and for the Rich?
