The billionaires you are giving tax breaks to are buying robots to replace workers. Thanks Republicans.

Mr Ramirez, I find this an oddly insightful view of the future. In your vision are there openings in the fields of: Hostile enforcement officers that check papers of citizens not born in the US- such as the robot shown above, guards at the internment camps for foreigners- such as the robot shown above (made in China since the US won’t invest in tech), death panels for the poor/sick/elderly who can’t afford coverage, or coal miners?

Actually on second look. The toon may be factual not in it’s current context, but soon enough. The McDonald’s kiosk so far has never gotten my order wrong.

This is a good comic because it brings out something we all have to face no matter our differing political and social views. Because of technology, fewer and fewer workers are required to produce the same amount of product and that trend will continue into the foreseeable future. Even if population growth halts, that still means several million people representing a sizeable workforce trying to get whatever jobs are available. Overlooking the greed of the extreme rich (which IS real), there needs to be a way of creating non-manufacturing jobs that that workforce can enter and perform. Otherwise we will be left destitute on the curbside with nothing to do.

Everyone please calm down. President Trump has promised high paying low skill new manufacturing jobs coming to YOUR town in the Rust Belt. I’m sure that is not a lie because he has been completely truthful and honest every day of his life. Trump tells the biggest truths. Really the best! Total truths. People are saying he is the most truthful president going all the way back to the Tsars. Big truths. The biggest. Really big.

might have made more sense to show a green card or illegal immigrant instead of a robot .. since we all know americans are not qualified for most jobs. been the same story since bill clinton opened up the borders.

Does your so-called mind grasp how that works when you use a single word for opinion? And why you were called out for it. Not because someone was ignorant of the word. I’d guess they weren’t, but of course you would not.

Michael totally supplies the image of Trump’s “job creation” plan, and mythology.

We would like to hire some folks. As soon as they find out a pre employment drug test is required by law and random ones through out the year,99% of the liberals stop the interview and leave.

So they go some where that a drug test is not required. Then Demand more money for doing less.Crash the company vehicle and get the company in a lawsuit when the insurance cancels and refuses to cover the wreck even though the dope head was at fault and received several tickets. Then the new company vehicles get repossessed and folks get laid off. Then the workplace move’s to another country.

Automation is going to be how things work. Capitalism can handle this shift, it is the people who suffer while the shifting is being done. Maybe when there is less demand on the over abundance of supply, prices will come down. Maybe the CEOs will be used to making so much money, they will keep raising prices as the people lose more and more jobs to automation.
