MIRAMAR, sounds like you are trying to push the false notion that union members cannot be fired. ANYONE can be fired as long as their manager does their job. You need to document the employee’s performance and conduct frequent reviews and if behavior doesn’t change, then they can be fired. iPhones are made by slave laborers and they are REALLY expensive – what is the excuse for those high prices?
@MIRIMAR: You can thank unions for safety laws that keep workers dealing with dangerous machinery from constant injury, insist on warning systems in mines (and emergency supplies of oxygen) in case of cave-ins, and limitations on length of shifts (like those for long distance truckers). Now that most of these protections are no longer being enforced, look to see yet another increase in medical costs as more and more of the few workers left end up in emergency rooms. It is cheaper for international corporations to offload their worker costs on the general public through emergency room Medicaid bills, apparently, than to install safety features in plants. Recent inspections of plants in China that are manufacturing shoes for the First Daughter revealed a lot of dangerous conditions that will probably never be corrected. No unions in China…

Bezos is buying Trader Joe’s next, since after buying “Whole Paycheck”, his Amazon account said “You may also be interested in…”
