Cute, but an election in a congressional district that has been R for 40 years, on the opposite coast from where Ms. Pelosi lives, hardly qualifies as a repudiation of her ability to lead the caucus. It was a long shot anyway. Move on. Maybe learn something from it, like stop being afraid to stand up for yourself, your colleagues, and your policies when you’re in power.

Many people do find her repugnant politically. And every election is a snapshot of what people think.

You can chat about the margins of loss, however a loss is a loss is a loss. The Democrats are a rudderless ship right now. They will come back, but they need to get rid of old, tired dead wood that has proven itself ineffective. It will take them a long time to realize that before they actually do it.

The Republicans sure do hate when the Democrats put women in charge of things. You should see what they do when the Democrats put a black guy in office!

Well, she is slipping. Her last election in her home district was her closest ever. She won, 80.9% to 19.1% She’s MY Congresscritter. My family met her about 17 years ago during the gubernatorial campaign and my daughters love their “Grandma Nancy.” How well did your Congresscritter do in their last election? Do your kids play with her grandkids? Or even know who they are?

I was not a fan of Clinton (and even voted for Sanders in my primary in Florida), but the constant Clinton bashing by alleged ‘progressives’ is disgusting and feeds right into yet another term for the current POTUS. I am old enough to have worked as a volunteer for Gene McCarthy, way back when we were trying to civil rights enacted, wind down the Vietnam war and find help for the vets who came back with what turned out to be PTSD (but that wasn’t known about then; I was also a volunteer on a crisis switchboard who dealt with suicidal vets). McCarthy didn’t win over the mods in the Democratic party. The candidate was Hubert Humphrey, who could have been described as a ‘corporate Demo’, just as so many describe Clinton. But when Nixon won, nobody spent years yammering about what an arrogant, aloof, ignorant person Humphrey was and how he stole ideas from McCarthy and Robert Kennedy. And Humphrey didn’t have to deal with planted stories like a child prostitution ring in a pizza restaurant, or any of the Russian interference. Face facts: If Hilary Clinton had been Harvey Clinton, most of you so-called ‘progressives’ would have sheathed your fangs and claws and gone on to criticize the Republican, instead of continuing to stab in the back a woman candidate. You are as ready to elect a woman as you are to fly to Mars. Don’t waste your time calling yourselves progressive…
