I am surprised that this normally conservative strip would make such a comment.

Actually, it appears to me to be a dead center shot at purveyors of ‘false news’ and those who use it to justify their often factless assumptions.

It seems completely out of character for Peter (and the BC strip in general) to be quoting an atheist and calling him “a once-great sage.”
