We humbly salute those who gave their all in defense of our country. May your deaths not be in vain.

We need a concrete basis for declaring wars, not the profit of the MIC as the primary motivation.

I have “problems” with Memorial Day, as folks celebrate the unofficial start of summer, and have a barbeque. I think of “The Wall”, and my friends listed. My son thinks of his friends lost in Iraq, Afghanistan, and elsewhere during his 13 years of service. He too isn’t “at peace” on Memorial Day. What we need is more real peace, and not politicians who’ve never served taking office, and making more wars, that their kids also will not serve in. Rank (as in disgusting rot) does have it’s privileges.

And always be sure to be rich enough to get some poor guy to die in your place.

We had 4500 die in Iraq “in defense of our country”.

How many children of Congressmen did that include?

Braindead, Bo Biden was one. It just took longer for his service there to kill him, and the number will eventually be very large, the chemical exposures, mostly courtesy of KBR and Cheney, are taking a huge toll.

Listening to the winds of argument swirling around reminds me of the 60’s and 70’s. Only difference is the fact that we had a legitimate reason to protest, possible loss of life.

Never forget, unless the king puts billboards of your face all over, then you can bow to him.

This is not a day to commemorate peace but a day to remember the men and women who serve in the American Military who have killed our enemies and sacrificed their lives so this Nation would remain free, because if not for them, we would be speaking Japanese or German. Even now they stand between us and the Islamic Jihad.
