Good to see that Calvin has recovered so quickly from whatever ailed him earlier this week.

It would take a move of more than “a few miles” for the moon’s gravity to affect tides in THAT great a fashion, Calvin. Try about 80,000 -100,000 miles or so.

His reward for giving the doc fits is a day at the beach? Something is wrong with that picture.

I’m kind of relieved that Calvin didn’t stomp on his “proud city” before the wave hit.

Look at what Calvin does to his hometown of Chagrin Falls on the back cover of The Essential Calvin and Hobbes treasury.

Actually, I believe the tide comes in when the moon moves AWAY from the earth. N’es pas?

Comic comments are a poor venue to teach physics, but tides result from the earth’s rotation beneath the moon’s steady gravitational pull, and nuclear EMP is no more of a threat to electrical equipment than the lightning strikes we have every day.

I see something good out of it. More wet sand to make a sandcastle.

Their little city can be built again and again.

Is Hobbs on vacation? Not worth reading this without him.

Calvin is a young child who comments like a child thinks. Why would we want him to be correct in every detail??? Wouldn’t be a comic strip then.
