looks like the icon is about to make its appearance

Or how about the number 1? The intelligent haters (or is that an oxymoron?) can then debate the additional layer of symbolism implied because it’s an “arabic” numeral…

Blackberry or Teleprompter? Blackberry or Teleprompter? Oooh, I can hardly wait!

(Hey, Artsyguy! You telling me there is nothing in the world worth hating? Or are you selective in the kinds of hate you choose to hate?)

If not the Blackberry, how about a CFL bulb as a symbol of change to something better (than an incandescent bulb, in this case)?

I don’t care much for this latest round of strips. Not really funny or even politically significant.

He won’t do a Teleprompter because Trudeau would believe that’s not fair. He won’t do a blackberry because it’s just a minor news item and doesn’t really say anything important (and isn’t funny). Here’s my (perfect, IMHO) suggestion:

A brick of good intentions.

And we know what road is paved with those. :)

They get funny if you’re willing to suspend your belief that Obama can save this country.

Couple nickles, a dime or two..

Yeah, a small pile of change might not be bad, if it wasn’t an open invitation to knee-jerk haters of Obama/Democrats to interpret it as “chump change” or something like that.

Why not just the “Big O” Symbol he used during the canpaign.

Bush had the centurion’s Helmet. Why not use a Knight’s Helm with face shield and a Coronet. Just a thought.

billrad, The problem is too many expect the president or the government to save them. Obama or Bush or otherwise. We need to save ourselves.

Radical Knight - Too many people would confuse that as a symbol for the Crusaders. Many of our enemies truly consider us as just the latest wave of Crusaders in their lands. It’s hard to blame them. Anyway, I don’t think that’s the image we want to encourage.

Son of light? Hummmm, could that be Jesus? I think that no icon is best, especially in light of Pete’s past observations, despite his rant.

I’d bet on a teleprompter, a blank rectangle of glass on a stick.

i’ve reconsidered, thanks to Pete Rogan and a couple of others. Is an icon really needed? I, too, begin to think not.

I like the teleprompter or hammer and cycle, but how about a tattered US Constitution with Article II scratched out. Or a finger puppet of the joker or a jar of Vasoline

stebon: Obama is about as socialist as you are well-informed. The rest of the world sees him as a center-right president.

For the two “hammer and cycle” dolts: it’s a hammer and sickle. And gun rights remain the same as they were last year.

Maybe no icon but really the whole thing is funny and thats what it’s all about. I like funny. Lets keep the rants out of this. Garry has my support I love my country and those who are there to remind us how funny we all are. LOL

It can’t be a CFL bulb - those are made out of hazardous materials, and we can’t have that associated with Obama.

I still think it is going to be a halo.
