    The sum of 1 thru 64 in pennies is $20.80.Not $1.27. I don’t even know how Zack got that total.

    If the pennies were doubled on each square the total would be 1.8446 * 10^17 dollars.

    It would work if, he put $.01 on the first square and $.02 on each of the other squares. (63 x $.02) + $.01 = $1.27. Guess it’s a lesson to read the question carefully. Very underhanded thing to do to his child though.
