Ray: These'll be your quarters, ma'am. You might want to change into those chocolate chips. Lacey: Why, these accommodations just couldn't be cozier, young man! Ray: Yes, ma'am. We get that complaint a lot. Lacey: So what do you do here, specialist, construction? Ray: Check, ma'am. My team was tasked to install 4,000 latrines. We completed our mission last month. Lacey: And your mission now? Ray: I'm tasked to look good. But, yo, ma'am-can't touch this!

I got into Doonesbury a couple of years ago because it is printed over here in The Guardian, but I soon started reading it on GoComics instead. What really helped was getting the 40th anniversary book for Christmas: it’s massive, with most of the key narrative story arcs in it.
Amazing to see how they all develop, and also how long many of the characters have been around, although there really does seem to be a bit of a “changing of the guard” now, as it becomes more Alex Doonesbury’s comic than Mike’s.
