Just a reminder to the TERRIBLY FORGETFUL Republicans on here.
Senator Richard Burr, a North Carolina Republican:, “And if Hillary Clinton becomes president, I am going to do everything I can do to make sure four years from now, we still got an opening on the Supreme Court.”
Senator Ted Cruz, to Dave Weigel, “There is certainly long historical precedent for a Supreme Court with fewer justices. I would note, just recently, that Justice Breyer observed that the vacancy is not impacting the ability of the court to do its job. That’s a debate that we are going to have.”
Senator John McCain, Republican said, “I promise you that we will be united against any Supreme Court nominee that Hillary Clinton, if she were president, would put up.”
Ilya Shapiro argues in The Federalist that the Senate should block any Clinton nominees, saying the Constitution allows it.
Michael Stokes Paulsen writes in National Review that the Court should be reduced from nine to six justices.
I know that daily dose of brain bleach just wipes everything, but can’t you even TRY to remember four months ago?
The hysteria from the Right on the mean ol’ Democrats picking on Neil Gorsuch is bizarre after their performance with Garland for the past year. Just who are the snowflakes these days?
Gorsuch is a symptom of a very serious disease plaguing Washington. The Republicans have ensured no Democrats will want to work with them, and looking at the disastrous legislation they are putting out I am glad they aren’t.
The man has a history of supporting corporations over people.
Gorsuch is fortunate to even get a hearing. Senate Republicans refused to grant one to the last nominee because he was nominated by a Democrat. Republicans have effectively stolen this seat. Gorsuch will be confirmed.
Senator Chuck Schumer says the hearings should be halted as we shouldn’t confirm a judge to the court who was nominated by a president currently under an FBI investigation. He has a point as everything Donald Trump touches is tainted.
And in an election year hasn’t stopped nominations nor placement.
Gorsuch also thinks that corporations should ask women if they plan to get pregnant before the hire them. He feels that it’s wrong for women to get a job and benefits and then use maternity leave.
