Baseball season starts today! Maybe that will get my mind off you know what.

    I doubt it.

And yet all of the problems they think Trump needs to be focused on were left to him by the last useless administration. How about discussing that?

I HATE to remind that whatever the merits or the faults of a President, he is generally elected more or less directly by THE PEOPLE. The Iraq disaster was led by GW Bush, but the responsibility is shared by all the “good and proud” citizens who voted him – twice. “Holy Hillary” and the crazy financing of the “Arab springtimes” did not come from a foreign planet, but from an enthusiatically VOTED Obama. Every single body bag returning from abroad, every single unemployed mother committing suicide, every single dollar stolen from manufacturing and health care to be given to WallStreet snake oil sellers was shot, hanged, stolen by millions of nice Americans with the flag on the roof and the turkey on the table. When USA citizens will discover that the price of there beloved Jeep Renegade is being doubled by import taxes (because it is built here in Southern Italy) they should also remember that it was NOT Italy (or Mexico, or Russia) that elected the Donald.Responsibility is full-time job. The “vote and forget” approach brings to the actual problems.

^GMARTIN997. It is Trudeau’s job to talk about the Rump and other atrocities. If the talking stops then those atrocities will be allowed to continue more freely.

Nice to see his daughter for a change, I was wondering where she disappeared to. The major problem with today’s strip is they didn’t even get to GLUTEN! A true horror in today’s world.

Time to end the comic when you acknowledge that you can’t talk about anything else.

I wonder how many people here don’t realize that he is talking to us.

You think GT doesn’t read this, at least once in a while?

Every single discussion here gets hijacked by those bitterly clinging to their we-should-have-won’s and those generously offering to wall out people willing to go through almost anything to improve their lives and their families’.

I personally welcome LEGAL immigrants ! Most of us descended from LEGAL immigrants! It appears as though a lot of people today don’t know the difference!

Yeah, my great-grandparents were all from across the sea, but you know that’s not really my point. There are also plenty of liberals who understand they lost according to the rules that everyone agreed to beforehand. The point is that there are other thing to discuss, and re-hashing the same stupid $#!& isn’t accomplishing anything but depressing peoples’ mood.

This is maybe GT’s best strip in the 40+ years I’ve been reading them, because it combines politics and personal in a way that’s subtle and nearly universal. I can’t even think of another one.

I know subtlety is out of fashion (and uncharacteristic in a strip with political content), but it’s terrific. Just beautiful.

Let’s face it: Trump is the most stupid, most dishonest, and most crazy president in American history. Triple Crown winners are ALWAYS talked about!

If you knew more history, you’d know that he’s probably not #1 in any of those categories. Though he’s probably in the top 3 in all 3.

The only category he’s probably actually #1 in is richest, though it’s hard to say just what his net worth is, or some long-ago Presidents, but it seems likely.

    But it’s been 50+ years since we had a President who wasn’t a multi-millionaire.

I definitely think that the 2016 election was rigged, and we may or may not ever find out to what extent the Russians played a role in that. Meanwhile, even though more voted for Clinton than trump, many more citizens have got to vote in the future! It is time to rock the vote! Marching and protests are fine, but the ultimate way to express yourself is through VOTING!

I really appreciate the cartoon’s message today. The time we are living in is no time to be disengaged. It is time to be involved, resist!

We can hope. If things start unraveling, chances are the peripheral players will not be willing to fall on their sword for T. the same way they did for Nixon and Reagan.

    @JEFFIEKINS

Many presidents got rich after leaving the Presidency — Grant, Cleveland, Truman, Eisenhower. Some became poorer during the Presidency — Jefferson, Monroe, Truman, Carter because they had to set their business interests aside to serve.

This is of course the essence of tRump, that he wants all conversations to circle back to him. Sort of the ultimate in narcissism. And we are by and large giving him what he wants.

Still, I can’t escape the feeling that tRump is just America writ large, volume turned up to 11. We may not be the “indispensible nation,” but we are definitely the most narcissistic nation, endlessly talking about ourselves and our “greatness.”

Unfortunately, trump is in the White House. It is a fact. Meanwhile, politics is and always has been, the business of all of us. We ignore it at our peril.

Coming from a Cuban/Venezuelan family, I can relate. That’s just how dictators are; you can’t really ignore them. Indeed, they become almost like an another family member; that one crazy uncle nobody can stop gossiping about.
