Some time in the future, there might be Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, even Lady Gaga.

I’m expecting my elevator Muzak to be rap any day now.

I was at an ‘Oldies Night’ dance in the late 90s, expecting at least some songs from 40s, 50s, and 60s. Nope, the oldest song was from the late 70s – 20 years or less is not an ‘oldie’. :(

Why I carry earplugs in my purse. A pair for me and a pair for my hubby.

At 78, my non-musician friend was trying to get me to buy an I-Pod, where I could download and store a few thousand ‘songs’ and ‘favorites’ for my entertainment thru the day. As an ex-musician, I’m tortured to the point of leaving a fan running at night to get some sleep and drive out the ‘tunes’ that I know running thru my brain. I’m 81 now and resort to ‘soothing music’ on the 800 channels on DirecTV to get me to sawing wood. Jeeeez !!

Many of my 45s were found in clearance bins. I doubt any of them are hidden treasures but I did find some good tunes. I can’t say I ever heard Spears sing so I must be doing something right.
