Does he have no shame? Of course he says he is for equal opportunity which means he’ll end up buggering all of us. And tRumpettes, don’t believe for an instant that he won’t do it to you as well.

It’s clear by now that Trump is totally incompetent. In a parliamentary system it would be easy to remove and replace him. He could be replaced as leader of his own party, or perhaps there would be vote of non-confidence and the government would change. But in the American system it’s not so easy. Either he has to be declared incompetent according to the rules in the 25th Amendment, or else he would have to be impeached. Either way there would have to be support from prominent Republicans. Nixon resigned when the Republican leadership told him it was time to go. So how long will it take the Republicans to either to realize that’s he’s going to be bad for them, or else to develop some kind of sense of the national interest beyond their own interest?

Part of the problem, of course, is that many Republicans hope they can use Trump to enact their own very oppressive, unjust, and dangerous program. In a way they are more dangerous than Trump.

lonecat, in my experience (and I’m originally from KY), Mitch McConnell has never let anything get in the way of Mitch and his party (and he seems to think that the party is Mitch). I’m not sure that Ryan is much different—-he seems to be ready to do anything to remain Speaker. It will have to be from the principled Republicans who break from this leadership. If you remember, it was Sen. Sam Ervin, a democrat who chaired the Watergate hearings, who finally made it clear that Nixon would have to go, and that was after Agnew had to resign because of his taking of bribes. Alexander Haig was the one who told Nixon he had to resign, but I don’t remember too much from the Republican leadership overall. We were just lucky that the Speaker of the House Gerald Ford, who had replaced Agnew, was an honorable man. That said, I’m not holding my breath at this point because I don’t see the backbones and principles from the leadership in either party to handle this situation well. I can only hope that there is somewhere Congresspeople as yet not noticed who will rise to the occasion.

It means that the hat is fresh and new compared to what seems to be under it.

Meaning: “There’s been no assault on MY liberty, which is all that matters.”

    From Snopes

Claim: Three Syrian refugees raped and murdered a 5-year-old girl at knifepoint in Idaho.

    Mostly False

WHAT’S TRUE: Police are investigating a 2 June 2016 incident in Twin Falls, Idaho, involving a five-year-old girl and three boys aged seven, ten, and fourteen.

WHAT’S FALSE: The incident was not a rape, the girl was not murdered, the boys involved were not Syrian, a knife was not used, and no “language barrier” prevented police from investigating or detaining two boys involved.

The incorrect story was, of course, widely proclaimed on Breitbart.
