I think it’d have been funnier to have Obama shout, “You lie!” while Trump recites the oath to uphold the Constitution.
It would very patriotic of Obama to not stand up for this illegitimate take over of our country. Unlike the small crowd who will show up to cheer on this loser of a candidate. His slim margins and loss of the popular vote has been made worse by his own hand. His popularity is spiraling (among Americans at least) Please Obama take a knee in light of this monstrosity, we would be proud.
Y’know, I’m pretty disappointed in how some Americans treat our outgoing President. I’m convinced that they do know much of what they say about him is simply not true. Indeed, many respected, venerable Presidential historians are making early predictions that President Obama will fall way above average, among American Presidents, considering the roadblocks and fortresses he’s had to overcome.
Count the successes our citizens enjoyed : He ended two wars that were not started by him. Under his direction, Osama bin Laden, the worst terrorist criminal we’ve seen yet, was found and eliminated.
Because of his initiatives (and this is only restricted by Republican counter efforts) the number of Americans not covered by health insurance is now below 8.6%, the lowest it’s ever been in our Country, even though in most equally developed Countries around the world the uninsured rate is 0%.
The President brought Iran, Iraq and Cuba out of their own little antiquities and into the modern world. GLBT citizens have been shown to be upstanding, valid and valuable people after years of being closeted. He staved off the demise of the American auto industry. It’s true President Obama didn’t deliver on the post-partisan political cooperation he promised but, what could he do after the top Republican says he will make it his top priority to stymie anything the President does ?
..But, simply, the Americans who denigrate President Obama aren’t encumbered by this weakness alone. We are all engaged in a debilitating super partisanship that is poisoning the progress and best interests of our populace. Why can’t we work together to make it work for everyone ?
