Obamacare is a patient on a table. His doctors are republicans and they have just thrown away his beating heart. Republican: We'll worry about the "replace" part later.
Have been wondering for years what we’ll get first in this retarded, corrupted country of ours: Metric System, a Mrs. president or… national healthcare for all, like other “civilized” nations? Don’t they know we’re exceptional, that we are right, they’re wrong? But I shouldn’t complain and just enjoy the last few months of MediCare before that’s abolished too by the Greedy Old Parasites, who btw have nothing to worry about with their golden HealthCare Plans for themselves! That alone is outrageous!
You know, since the Affordable Care Act was based 98.6% on Romneycare, I have to wonder what would’ve happened if they would just have KEPT the name Romneycare!
“New York, N.Y., October 8, 2015— The U.S. spent more per person on health care than 12 other high-income nations in 2013, while seeing the lowest life expectancy and some of the worst health outcomes among this group, according to a Commonwealth Fund report out today. The analysis shows that in the U.S., which spent an average of $9,086 per person annually, life expectancy was 78.8 years. Switzerland, the second-highest-spending country, spent $6,325 per person and had a life expectancy of 82.9 years. Mortality rates for cancer were among the lowest in the U.S., but rates of chronic conditions, obesity, and infant mortality were higher than those abroad.
.
….
.
Commonwealth Fund researchers found the U.S. to be a substantial outlier when it comes to health spending. Health care consumed 17.1 percent of the nation’s gross domestic product (GDP) in 2013, about 50 percent more than any other country. Despite being the only country in the study without universal health care coverage, government spending on health care in the U.S.—mainly for Medicare and Medicaid—was high as well, at $4,197 per person in 2013.
By comparison, the U.K., where all residents are covered by the National Health Service, spent $2,802 per person.
For decades the options in my group plan were “self” or “self and family”, to cover the spouse and kids. After the kids left home, stil the only options. The ACA allowed “self and spouse”, reducing premiums as the kids not home didn’t have to be paid for. This cut costs and it was only after ACA provided the option that lower premiums, with full coverage, became available.
It’s in the best interests of all of us (and therefore a legitimate concern of government, which represents all of us) to have a healthy, secure, and educated populace.

Since profit motivates the necessities of living — health care, education, utilities — the money gods will always supersede the public well being.

H.L. Mencken described the GOP well. “For every problem there is a solution that is simple, neat and wrong.” Heartless S. O. B.s indeed.
