Remember, you’re there for your child, EL, not yourself; unless you have greedy aspirations for your child playing in the NHL.

Don’t be a “skating mother”! Get out there and take some Learn To Skate classes! Adults skate (and compete!) too!

Could be worse…how about a being the parent of a competitive swimmer. Hours spent sitting in damp, clammy, overheated, indoor facilities, reeking of chlorine ?

Does it mean so much to the kids if their parents are watching?

Maybe Elly could take a cushion along?

Boy! That’s the truth, no matter what activities your kid’s into. BTW! Most of these activities take place on the weekend or in the evenings. Where’s dad?

Hey! It’s your child! She will be gone and won’t want much to do with you in 10 to 15 years. Enjoy while you can.

Didn’t they have blow-up cushions in Canada back then? That’s a socialist country for you.

GMARTIN997: Of course, Elly was not the only parent with a sore bottom and sore nose, but naturally out came your fangs to slash and trash. And if Elly was shouting out words of encouragement, you’d be dissing her for that. If you hate the character so much, go elsewhere.

@KODJ KODJIN: It was Michael who was playing, not Elizabeth. But you were in such a hurray to diss the Elly character, you couldn’t even take the time to notice which child she was there to cheer on. And that’s what she did. She was cheering, pal. She didn’t tell her child that it hurt her behind and that she was catching a cold. She just thought about how recognizable hockey parents are, because they all share those ailments. But I guess thought police like yourself even diss people because of things they don’t say out loud. What a great future you will live in when the tables are turned on you…
