RJ Corman in Lexington, Kentucky has a steam locomotive that they keep at their rail yard there. Plans on using it for dinner trains and private excursions.
And this is why the recession is not over. If you want to stimulate the economy, you have to buy American made products. Buying American means that somewhere out there, an American has a decent paying manufacturing job. That person then has money to spend buying other American made products. It’s a self sustaining cycle.
The Dems claim to want to be the champian of the American middle class, but they have yet to grasp that concpet. The Republicans cornered the market on the “America first” attitude, yet they have nothing to do with the “buy American first” attitude.
It’s ironic that our economy’s in the toilet. It’s one of the very few items still manufactured in America.

That’s what you get when a country doesn’t want to invest in new “hippie” technologies.
You may want to keep you SUVs, but the World won’t stop evolving just so you can keep your toy.

Everything else you buy from lawn furniture to Christmas lights to tennis shoes is made in China. Why should locomotives be any different?
