Is that a splat?

It is a balancing act, I suppose. How are your stocks performing?

Why, there is nothing to talk about, dear.

Looks like his shadow is trying to quitely slip away from having to tell his wife situationi with the retirement fund.

At first I thought it was a “splat” then I saw the tightrope attached to him and realized it was actually his shadow. Beautifully done, Wiley!

The funny thing is, I’m the financial person in the family yet my husband has the pension. Once in a while (every quarter), he asks ME how it’s doing! (Could be better!)

Uhoh, looks like someone didn’t diversify his portfolio!

My job gives me omers pension, my taxes go to CP, a small biweekly portion goes into an RRSP, I’ve got an investment property and some index funds, so hopefully if one takes a dump the others will come through.

My back-up plan, if all this fails, is 100 acres in the middle of nowhere with some pirhanna-filled moats, canned food and a lot of guns.

I could have diversified between growth, income, money market and bonds, but I put it all in Alaskan Pineapple cause there was no competition.

Reminds me of that Leon Russell song, “I’m on a tight wire.”

hey lew, you otta see the size of their produce up there. carrots the size of footballs, mellon-sized tomatoes, cabbage and lettuce 2 feet in diameter, etc. highly accellerated growth. short season, tho…. ;)

Could it be that the government is planning on robbing your retirement by requiring that it be invested in treasury funds and bills? Of course they’ll provide a guaranteed income for life. Just like Social Security. Shades of the Clinton era.

What most of America does not understand is that the two major political parties are taking us down the same road, they are just doing it in different cars.

I tried to diversify, but there’s only so much you can do with $3.75 in coupons clipped from today’s Advertiser and $2.78 in change.

“Retirement”?

Hmm, it seems vaguely familiar - oh, yeah, it’s something my grandfather did, a long, long, time ago.

On “Cheers,” Rebecca once asked her father, a Navy captain, when he was going to retire.

“When they wrap me in a flag and slide me off the deck.”

Well, at least I have a flag…

see “retirement jobs” on NPR. to answer her question: “what retirement fund?”

if they haven’t fallen off the tightrope yet, then they’re in pretty good shape!
