“We don’t know what it is, but we know it never actually goes bad, and the taste comes before you actually put your tongue on it.

Unlike cats, birds are unafraid of pickles. They do, however, consider the offer of a pickle to be a cruel practical joke.

The long sour thing is not an option, Beatrix. There’s still a chance once the prey lands again.

Right with you there Puck, nope nope nope and nope to those vile pickles. I know we Brits eat all sorts of pickled things but I don’t like them and after moving to Canada I was disappointed to discover pickles get put on, in and around all sorts of food – ick

Cucumbers are to pickles as pharaohs are to mummies…see a previous strip in which Puck has a chart explaining the entire thing.

I just noticed a coloring error. The foil on the toothpick is red in panel five, then it’s clear in panel six, and back to red in panel nine.

my dog was parked next to my cutting board as I diced the bell pepper, pickles, green onions, etc for my sandwich spread. She seemed to be as eager for droppage after the dill pickle bit as after her beloved red pepper (I guarded the green onions from dropping, of course)

My Batchelo’s cat, Horatius Centurius, was crazy for fresh mushrooms. He’d sit on top of the refigerator, and snitch them out of the basket as I sliced them up for salads and steaks.

Back in the days when I ate fish one of my cats, Gabriel Snood, leaped on the table and grabbed a fish filet (in coating) and flew off of the table then took the prey under the couch. Normally he didn’t hunt anything so I thought this was so funny!

Alias liked cooked green peas. Finder would look at her like “You know we’re carnivores, right?”

My brother-in-law had a cat that liked olives. He once drained half a martini to get to one. I never heard if the subsequent hangover put him off olives after that.
