One of my boys’ favorite games is to stick their paws under the bathroom door, trying to get the cat on the other side of the door.

Is it time for another Sunday strip already? I am definitely getting spoiled with these strips every day!

I love this one. So typically cat.

Never fails. Mine will get up in the middle of a nap to join me in the bathroom!

Very typically cat—I remember growing up, all the cats we ever had, would never fail to follow me to the bathroom and scratch under the door, trying to get in. lol! They also always had a fixation with climbing into the bath (without water in it of course). So if you were doing your business and suddenly heard shuffling noises against the curtain, it was unmistakably one of the cats that decided to nap in the tub.

Worse still is letting a cat in and then they spend the entire time you’re taking a shower howling to get back out.

The gap between our doors and the floor is just wide enough for a kitty face to peek through

Those little faces are adorable, even if they re looking at me on the toilet

If the bathroom door isn’t closed shut, one of my cats will open it wide to make her grand entrance. The others would open it just enough to sneak in.

The vet asked “How often does he use the litter box?” My reply was “Whenever I go to the bathroom.”

Every time she heard the toilet seat go up, my kitty would make a made dash for the bathroom, and leap dramatically into the sink. She loved drinking from the faucet.

Compare this strip with original on Dec. 1, 2014 (www.gocomics.com/breaking-cat-news/2014/12/01?ct=v&cti=2077662). Today’s strip was redrawn to fit new format. Some loss of detail (such as pockets on Elvis’ pants) but all in all the new format works well. Interesting to see how the faces of “the boys” have changed. I like the faces in today’s strip better than in 2014. Plus the faces are more familiar to me because I only started reading BCN in January 2017.

The bane of all cats, a closed door.

No closed doors in my apartment. And when I take a shower, the door is always open just a little bit. I always get Sebastian to come in and try to be the first one to put his scent back on me. Sometimes I get followed to the bathroom, sometimes not. Depends on how needy they are then.

We have to leave the bathroom door wide enough for YumYum to slither in; otherwise, she sits outside the door and wails. Trust me, nothing wails like a disconsolate Siamese!

I live alone with 5 cats and a large dog, the easiest thing for me to do was remove the bedroom and master bath door. When I have company I put up a curtain on the bedroom doorway so the pets can still get in and out. I do remind my company to look under the bed and in the closet of their room before closing the door since the pets aren’t used to it. Having a kitty stuck in the room may not be the fun you want it to be, ask Elvis.

Forgive the plug, I just thought the people who follow this strip online would want to know about this. I just got a book, just out, called “Star Trek Cats.” It’s just what it sounds like, art (very good art) of cats in the roles of the characters from the original series in scenes from classic episodes. They even selected that breed of big-eared cat (sorry, don’t know the name) for Spock. The book can be found at Barnes & Noble, among other stores. My two favorite pictures come late in the book, recreating two classic scenes from “The Trouble with Tribbles.” And, yes, one of them is the Kirk cat in THAT scene.

My mini schnauzer may have no interest in what I am up to, but as soon as that bathroom door closes, she becomes the world’s tiniest battering ram, throwing her whole little self at the door to gain entrance.

I started reading BCN very close to the start, when my partner’s sister introduced me to it, and I think this was the first one I ever read. It remains a classic. I keep coming out of the loo to find my cat crouched in the hallway guarding me, and she immediately scampers off.

I don’t even bother closing the door. The Bathroom Police accompany me on every “mission”. It’s aways a shock when I’m somewhere that I can use the loo unattended.
