It would be easier if the government just told you how much you owed them, but with today’s politics, who would trust them?

Not gonna lie, I would have jumped at the chance to do my parents’ taxes when I was a young teenager. Of course, being Australian, our taxes are pretty straightforward.

I don’t know about simple taxes, I just would like to see all of the loopholes closed and a move to a straightforward system that provides equitable treatment for all.

Homework Pheobe, really? I thought you said you hated stupid homework! what’s the reasoning for it anyway? Couldn’t the teachers just give you an independent practice page to do INSIDE the classroom!?!?!?!

I like the strips where Phoebe is chatting with her parents. Its nice to see them make an effort to spend time with her and talk with her. Maybe she will do accounting work when she is older? @Dana Simpson: Do you plan to let her age gradually or will she be forever 9?For some people, complicated taxes are like a puzzle or game. There really are people who get a thrill out of them. I had a roommate like that. She has worked in accounting for several years now and is now CFO of a company.

Phoebe, trust me; taxes are not what they’re cracked up to be. I can barely wrap my head around them.

I don’t know if a flat tax would really be better for the needs of the country, but I do know it’d mean a lot less paperwork, and I’m certainly for that much.

You don’t know what you’re saying. At least where I live, it’s hard enough just to fill a simple form.

My daughter is about to graduate college with a degree in economics and she doesn’t even want to do her own taxes, much less daydream about doing mine!

Contrary to 4/18 when she didn’t WANT to do literal home-work… guess cleaning one’s room doesn’t make for maturity?

I, in common with most people in britain, the only time the inland revenue asks me to actively do something is when they give me a check for a few hundred pounds worth of overpaid taxes. Unless your asking for something that needs checking the taxman should just take itself share and leave you be.

Also adding sales text at the till when shopping in america is simply a very frustrating way of pushing right wing proganda onto the end of very shopping trip
