Only 23 million? With all the trolls on the internet claiming he was a Kenyan born Muslim, I thought it was at least twice that number.

I think a lot of Republicans are more liberal than they admit. They tell pollsters they’ll vote along the party line for appearances, but when they get behind the curtain, they vote their conscience, which is troubled by the party line. This would be how most people voted for Obama when most people claim they didn’t.

I just wish journalistic investigators and reporters would face and publish or broadcast the reality that people who SAY they believe something may not actually believe it, but are just trying to further an agenda..Instead of “…23 million Republicans believe…” the report should be “…23 million Republicans say they believe…”.Watch testimony in a courtroom and realize that you cannot testify to what someone else believes or knows, only what they have said.

The fact that they believe he is both a Muslim and a Tool of Rev. Wright is what I find fascinating. Republican logic is as convoluted as you can get.

Politics may not bring out the best in people, but we have a right to discuss it. I’m glad GT is unafraid to discuss politics. He has an important voice.

When you hear that 50% of the Republicans are Trump or Carson, it’s pretty scary. But, Republicans are only about 25% of the American people, so only about 12 1/2 percent of them are actually nuts. Granted, 121/2 is scary, but it beats the heck out of thinking they might take over.

Obama’s mother was American, and most importantly, he was born in the United States, which makes him American. Other presidential candidates have actually been born elsewhere and no one questions it…

In the US, we don’t live under Islamic law, so what they do in Kenya is irrelevant. Obama is a Christian. It would be fine if he was a Muslim, but in fact, he is not.

President Obama has been baptized in Christianity. He practices Christianity. But don’t let facts get in the way of a good rant.

We don’t have a religious test in the US in terms of who can be President. Therefore, the whole subject of the President’s religion is completely irrelevant, even if he was a Muslim, which he isn’t.

Indeed, that seems to be very true. The whole point of the strip today seems to be illustrated by some who are commenting today.

Article 6 of the US Constitution states: “The Senators and Representatives before mentioned, and the members of the several state legislatures, and all executive and judicial officers, both of the United States and of the several states, shall be bound by oath or affirmation, to support this Constitution; but no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States.”

Rev. Wright might be an ordained minister, but like many(both right and left), he is a politican. A like minded Muslim can follow the same political retoric.

Evangelical christianity, like Islam, teaches its followers to “believe” things presented by male authority figures, as opposed to “knowing” them from research (or simple logic). From that, the true believers have no difficulty transferring blind belief to the political realm. Anyone for storing grain in a pyramid?

I don’t believe Trudeau has raised the question of what defines Christian. Nor, has he claimed to have a definite answer.

Marching Morons sounds a bit harsh. Anyway, I thought you were worried about the level of civility on this thread. Get over yourself. People have the right to express themselves. GT has the right to open up lines of discussion. It is all good. If you are so worried about people getting heated during a political discussion, maybe you should skip the Thanksgiving dinner, as you might run into a political discussion, as often happens in this country. We are not the only people who are free to express themselves either. Maybe you could go to one of those places where they can’t do this. North Korea doesn’t allow political discussion, maybe you could check out that place, for example.

About 150 million believe he’s a US citizen (even with a fake birth certificate/SSN) and apparently that’s enough to make it true.
