Can you write any post, any at all that doesn’t contain the words “Fox Rush Noise” " Faux News" or “RepubliCon”?? Just wondering. Just shows your lack of not having an original thought or having a valid point to make. Truthfully the only political party that is conning the people is the DemoRATS. There I can do that too!! They rely on the uninformed to spread their lies that big nanny government will take care of you.So can you name any government program that has risen anyone out of poverty, just one. Shouldn’t be all that hard for you liberals!Food stamps & poverty have both soared under obama. And Baltimore & Chicago are shining examples of liberal progressivism!

Ramirez is right, there was no poverty before Obama. None.

Arizona’s living the dream, shortening the Welfare window to try and save a buck, Cheaping out always works! And anyway, Welfare’s a crutch, and what do conservatives do when they see someone on a crutch? Right, they kick it away, because they don’t need a crutch, so nobody else does.

Corporate welfare’s not a crutch. It’s a gratuity.

And what do we do for those who are unable to maintain a “regular” job for a variety of valid reasons?

47 million living in poverty and you think they do it by choice? Food stamps help fill the gap, but the gap still exists. Inane “agriculture” tax breaks would go a long way towards funding real food needs.

It may not be well known, but Republicans/Fox “news” viewers have a solution to poverty. And here it is:

Tell those thugs to go get a job.

It is also their solution to all race relations issues:

Tell those thugs to go get a job.

It is also the solution to any and all individual and/or systematic forms of law enforcement misconduct. And unemployment. And the deficit.

Of course the Republican/Fox “news” viewers’ solution to health care problems is much more complex:

Tell those thugs to go get a job that has health benefits.=And, of course, the cartoon is yet another vivid expression of Ramirez’ Hatred Of Obama.

True partriots would create jobs here in the United States, and maintain infrastructure and the industrial base.

When Cheney and Bush said “pull my finger”, over 300,000 died, and yet they proved in 2008 they could create still MORE poverty here at home. Play that tune on the Republican’s world’s smallest violin.

Why work and strive for something when you can legally steal other people’s money by the force of the government and get what you want??

@FishDog93Actually, I learned ‘right from wrong’ from my parents and my grade school teachers. All Fox News tells me is that if you tell the same lie repeatedly, some people will believe you. Also, I jnow that if your profits are $16 billion while your employees require $6 billion in public assistance, you’re cheating millions of people!

Here was my answer: “Here’s a government program that lifted my family out of poverty: public education. Both my parents were raised on welfare, back in the Great Depression; without the support of welfare, they would have left school to get whatever jobs they could. But because of public education and welfare they both went to college on scholarships, and entered the middle class.”

Here was your reply: “Wow that’s a neat trick considering that Welfare didn’t start until the 1960’s under LBJ.”

The New Deal employment program such as the Works Progress Administration primarily served men. Prior to the New Deal, anti-poverty programs were primarily operated by private charities or state or local governments; however, these programs were overwhelmed by the depth of need during the Depression.”

Clearly there was welfare before LBJ. There was state and local welfare, and there was also some federal welfare during the Great Depression. So you are wrong on the specific points I made. You are changing the terms of the discussion in order to avoid admitting your mistake. I repeat. There was welfare during the Great Depression, and it helped my family move out of poverty into the middle class.

I don’t really think FishDog93 sounds like an angry person. Just a conservative person. The root motive in all conservative “thinking” is simple: the justification of privilege. The best definition I ever heard of a conservative is someone who has an easy acceptance of social inequality.Everything he’s written here illustrates the point nicely. If you read what the other right-wingers post here at the editorial comics, almost all of it is easily seen to be defense of their own privilege, and its natural concomitant, lack of concern for either other people, or the natural world.Sad, but ineluctable, and it will be destruction of humanity and of much of the life on planet Earth.
