For those who “think” chemicals used to disperse the oil are safe - From The Guardian-UK (posted 5 May, 2010):
“The dispersants are designed to break down crude into tiny drops, which can be eaten up by naturally occurring bacteria, to lessen the impact of a giant sea of crude washing on to oyster beds and birds’ nests on shore. But environmental scientists say the dispersants, which can cause genetic mutations and cancer, add to the toxicity of the spill. That exposes sea turtles and bluefin tuna to an even greater risk than crude alone. Dolphins and whales have already been spotted in the spill. The dangers are even greater for dispersants poured into the source of the spill, where they are picked up by the current and wash through the Gulf.”
Dispersant ‘may make Deepwater Horizon oil spill more toxic
Also see CNN’s website for a video of a reporter who went to where the oil is close to Louisiana & dips out a bottle of “orange color liquid”. It’s quite revealing visually & I’m guessing it’s got a smell to it too.
Exactly what pharmaceutical company is marketing all the “stupid pills” to Conservatives? They must be making a fortune just off Lisa and Andy!
Yes, GJ, dispersants are NOT THE “ANSWER” but more of THE PROBLEM!
It is kinda’ like all those thrown away, or passed through the body, pharmaceuticals now showing up in water sources, like drinking water. What you can’t “see” CAN hurt you!
^^ Yes, it’s an amazing performance, day after day. A good conservative critique would be interesting and welcome, but instead we get this persistent resistance to thought and reality and thinking about reality and realistic thinking.
^It’s obvious; lib outrage is cherry-picked and entered into only when it betters their position. Like the Katrina Aftermath, Abu Gharib photo-fests, delayed CBO accounting on Obamacare…On and on. The Libs and the Lib-media cover for the HollowManChildPresidentObie and his incompetent regime; let alone all Dems in general every chance they get…
Seems to be that Lisa is suggesting that we just leave the slick. Doesn’t sound right, but it seems to be the point of the toon.
So… does the gov’t even HAVE any spill cleaning equipment? I mean have they ever been prepared for this type of thing or is it up to the industry to clean it up?

Is she criticizing the government for making BP pay for the clean up? If so, why? If not, what’s her point?

He should have the S.W.A.T. team members doing that.

“Big government spends too much money” but … “please clean up after a corporate mess using government spending.” …
Guess it doesn’t matter, we’ll all eat the costs of this in one form or another, so to speak.

The money bags should be stacking up around Obomba as his first wall against public inquiry…
