I guess I’m a sheeple, then. This toon is out of bounds, really. The Islamic idiots who flew the planes were trying to provoke us and they succeeded. We got bit by a dog and neither kicked the dog, nor even the doghouse. Instead, we ramped up “stupid intelligence” to attack a country that had nothing to do with the attack on us. Now, we are ramping up another war with the murderous IS. This will, no doubt, provoke them in their outrageous uncivilized behavior. This is not our fight. This is up to the people in the region, and their religious brethren around the world. Islam needs to deal with this instead of making lame excuses and giving tacit approval with statements I have personally heard that “Well I don’t condone the actions of the IS, but we can understand their intentions to purify the faith and act against the infidels. After all look at what they’ve done in Iraq, Afghanistan, Guantanamo, and in the holy lands, perverting the sacred sites of Mecca and Medina with their mere presence. No, we Peaceful Muslims don’t condone what they do, but we completely understand why they do it.” The only commenter I have seen on this ite who has personally dealt with Muslims in numbers seems to be Paris Girl. I don’t mean having the occasional Americanized Muslim co-worker or friend, I mean dealt on a day to day basis with them. I have spent a lot of time in the GCC, and I can assure you the prevailing attitudes are as I describe them. When in their element, either on the outskirts of Paris or Berlin, Dubai or Oman or KSA, the attitudes are similar. Yeah, I’m just an uninformed sheeple, alright. That’s me.
When our military becomes too “safe” from attack, either through armor, personal equipment, or especially drones, the insurgent/enemy WILL focus on the more attention grabbing target, our CIVILIANS. Whether bin Laden or ISIL this long established principle has applied, Dresden and Nagasaki are just two examples.
Attacking civilians IS COWARDLY, so what have “shock and awe” and our drone attacks starting with Bush, been?
Terrorism, making the population live in fear does not win friendships, whether that fear is reasoned as in Afghanistan, Iraq, or NIgeria, or UNreasoned and exaggerated in the U.S.
We also left ISIS which, whether we had stayed or got out, had/has to be fought. But it wasn’t there and we created the monster. There is now a REAL coalition, not just four countries, including the 194 military Polish powerhouse and there are no American lives being lost on the ground, so ’let’s do it’.

Bush listened to the briefing, Suskind says, then told the CIA briefer: “All right. You’ve covered your ass, now.”
But Its OKAY When A Republican Does It.

When it comes down to it, a whole civilisation is condemned for the actions of a few. Let’s all see things in a correct perspective.
