TBH Pea, I think the Democrats helped the Republicans this election with that whole “fear and hate.” With a record of 58% of people opposing the PPACA, and Obama inserting his foot in a whole bunch of Democrats’ mouths with his "My initiatives are on the ballot, he really did some damage to them. Republicans had one job: To show they aren’t freaking lunatic fringe, and let the Democrats’ records beat themselves. That’s precisely what happened. Don’t turn it into something it’s not.As to the ‘toon, I would whole-heartedly agree. We gave Republicans an opportunity here. I hope they don’t squander it. If they do, they will be right back out on the street while we find someone new.

I think once the middle class republicans figure out they are getting screwed too, they might have a change of heart.

The Democrats shot themselves in the foot. The Republican mantra was “Obama’s policies are bad. Elect me.” The Democrats countered with “Well, yeah, Obama’s policies are bad. So why vote for me?” Brilliant strategy.

And the R’s are hard at work. The new keep-the-government-running bill eliminates most of Dodd-Frank and allows more shady derivative trading, helping to set up another crash.

It’s been estimated that there are now $40 TRILLION being traded as derivatives at this time. The market will crash; mark my words; this cannot be sustained. And no economy in the world has enough cash to bail it out. We are walking on thin ice, and the R’s are using a flamethrower to light the way.

And that hope that tax reform will occur? Please. The R’s couldn’t name one loophole that they wanted to close, although many of them have stated that loopholes must be closed. So, although anyone with any concept of leadership knows that our tax system needs a major overhaul, there is less than zero chance to expect that to happen.

Gridlock to the third power, here we come. And two years from now, after nothing is done, the R’s will lose lots of seats in Congress, and then nothing will be done after that. And repeat.

    “Elections have consequences.”

    At least they used to.

Now everyone gets hosed either way.

Nothing to see here. Move along…

51% of 31% isn’t a wave, it’s a sewer of contempt and complicty through apathy that IS destroying this country. Moneyed interests however, ARE the ones drowing us.
