I always try to rescue and evacuate them to the outdoors before my cats get too intrigued…Thanks for the info, BrassOrchid. Didn’t know about the legs.
I saw one of those just yesterday. I let it alone. It has the run of the basement and it eats other bugs that come in (ones that intend to eat my food and clothing or bite my cats or me). Plus, centipedes are very very fast and hard to catch.

I love spiders, bugs are fine. None of them bothered me. I once had pet hissing cockroaches.
