I was figuring the ‘theory’ had something to do with keeping the boat out of water. Guess I was right…

The theory is sound! Only our implementation can be faulty!

Part 2 of that theory is: We don’t ask directions because we don’t get lost.

Noticing that you screwed up is not the same as admitting to it. Just wait until no one’s looking, cover the mistake with paint, and pretend that what you’re doing now is what you had been doing all along.

What about the part where real men don’t need instructions.

I like puzzles that is why I read the instructions.

Been a tech service person forever. I will never admit to having read a manual or called a help desk…. (notice I said “admit”)

The operative word in your comment is “IF”. Always with the “ifs”, and never with what actually happened; which is, TOTAL FAILURE! Learn from the past or just go away.

I always read instructions – then complain that it would have been clearer if they had let me write them.

I always keep the manuals and read them. I didn’t admit that so had a reputation of being smarter than I am. Keep smiling and folks will wonder what you’re doing and/or what you got away with. :-)

You’ve totally missed the point. He’s not going to succeed because the theory is junk, and it has nothing to do with politics.

1. First lesson of history: We seem to learn nothing from history!2. If at first you don’t succeed, skydiving may not be your sport.3. There is a thriving cottage industry in aftermarket instructions, for all those written in !@#$% and badly translated. Try your hand, what could you lose?
