True that. On the day I retired, four years ago, I took my watch off, never to be worn again.

Then, you go home to the spouse and discover who the real boss is…

I retired as a corrections officer three years ago after twenty-six and half years, but the ultimate count down I encountered was when I was stationed in Germany in the early 80’s. The Freedom Bird poster was iconic.

I’d retired in 2007, and have watched my S.S. payments dwindle to almost NOTHING, and one year, did not receive a raise at all ! Funny how all the politicians can give themselves a heft raise now ’n then, but tell the public the government is running out of money? How come they never run out of “welfare” money?

Fortunately, I get a “crazy” check, which all but equals what my regular SS payment and part time job gave me.I think all congress/elected officials should be forced to live on SS….maybe then we’d get a decent check every month.
