Utah wants to eliminate the last year of high school, totally. Other states are talking of shortening high school, sending kids to “community” colleges, or college- and exactly where do those NOT going to college, like in technical fields, or less “academic” fields, going to get schooled in the “basics” of life?
If basic K-12 schooling is down graded to “save money”, exactly what will that cost with increased prison populations, or unemployment for the “untrained”?
Cripes, trout, is that true? Great. Let’s get a whole host of ill-educated Americans incapable of competing in an increasingly complex and knowledge-based world. And trying to get blue-collar jobs, which have been shifted overseas in any case. Great. Permanent unemployment and a nice pool of stupid GOP voters.
Too late, guys! Ask a professor (in just abut any technical field); the incoming class can’t even read at grade level, can’t balance a checkbook, can’t figure out why a job interview is important, just on and on and on… Some of them can sure take a test, though!
“The future is here already; it’s just not evenly distributed yet!” –William Gibson
I know that several of you are more than one at a time of different personas being plurally singular and singularly plural united under diversity more often than not except sometimes. But I have no idea who is who is who, so I treat each persona as a person. A cat may have nine lives, but this cat’s brain can’t deal with more than one thing at a time.
Weird how Obama said he wanted to clean up washington and there he is, instead, cutting healthcares, education and finding schemeing ways to pay off his huge debt of “stimulus” by raising prices in other various forms.
