this is SO my husband and me……..he has hearing aids but refuses to wear them so he puts the phone on speaker so he can hear the caller and sometimes he still has to bring it to me.
I’ve had hearing aids since I was 40 & a few years back I switched over to digitals with a streamer… OMG… Phone, TV, computer, tablet… all come in stereo in both ears… I sure don’t miss the days I sounded like Earl :)
I’ve had recorded spam calls where I couldn’t make out a word, due to the voice (high pitched, fast talking, and/or accent). But I could tell they were recordings, so that was enough to hang up on them.
Real understanding wife that Opal, yes siree. If Earl can’t hear very well, he probably will have trouble telling that the speaker is a recording, and calling him a childish name will not help him hear any better. Besides, some recorded calls are nearly unintelligible, either because the equipment used was poor quality or English was not the speaker’s first language.
