There are very few movies about people reading books either….I wonder why?

OK, cut and paste, or no cut and paste?

    Janis and Varnes….

There are films in which people read books or watch televison…

But a movie about it, in which you watch them…. Wow, that would be about as interesting as Andy Warhol’s five hour film of a man sleeping.

Which I saw. And it wasn’t.

GR6 … almost certainly cut and paste…. and why not?

A comic (usually) isn’t “fine art,” it’s humor… and this is just as funny with the images identical…. It’s all his own work…. so why would some people insist that the artist redraw the same panel seven times?

(No… I’m not saying you said that…. but I’ve heard others criticise.)

And even famous painters have made an art of copy and paste…. e.g, the aforementioned Warhol.

The only people who would watch a movie or broadcast show like that are either waiting for some frightening to happen or are true voyeurs.

What about “Pleasantville”? Not exactly totally watching TV, but the entire premise is about going into an old TV show.

The conversation started because they are watching someone watching tv who is also watching tv who happens to be watching tv. A form of a Möbius Strip.

Bad timing, given the “all episodes” Simpson’s marathon on FXX.

Reminds me of the old Sunday newspaper parody the “Dacron Republican-Democrat.” The Doonesbury parody in the comics section was six identical panels and a crack about using the copier to fill the panels in the strip.

On “Friends” there were several episodes where they watched TV – the one where they get free porn, the one where Joey is suppose to be on Law and Order…

On “Married with Children” they watch a lot of TV – Psycho Dad is on a lot. Al spends his entire vacation watching TV. He watches Hondo (a movie). etc.

And don’t forget George Burns – he watches the show he is on to know what everyone else is doing when he is not with them!

Obviously the BBC’s sitcom “The Royle family” (2006-1012, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Royle_Family) never made it across to Janice’s neighbourhood. About 95% of that seemed to take place with the main characters gathered around the TV.
