Mike Luckovich, save a little money and when things settle down travel to the Gaza Strip, but don’t go as a delegation of press people, go indepedently and find the truth for yourself. What you are showing now is what NBC and bias media is showing.
I saw a facebook post on a children’s program shown in Gaza called “Tomorrow’s Pioneers” where children are taught early on to hate Jews, something Mr. Luckovich supports apparently.
I beg to disagree. Religion IS the problem. In fact.,religion is a great problem in a great many areas. How much better we would all be if we could shed all the religious mumbo-jumbo of ALL religions and simply be nice to each other. (I know — what a pipe dream!)
yes goweeder do away with religion have nice place like stalin ussr or mao china // dear mikey those that stayed kept their property ,those that joined forces to kill all jews and take their property lost out [ what did they who joined with Jordan , Egypt , Syria , ect get from their allies] // note to agentsmith101 in Egypt the “nut jobs” got 65%+ of first vote
mocked sarcastically,“it’s going to be a lonnnnng wait. Maybe the Israelis should let the west bank open casinos. It seems to keep our natives less restless.”
Sounds laik my ou Suid Afrika, laik Sun City in Bophuthatswana, hey? :-) Wait, wat, whaddaumean, he wesn’t joking, man? Thet looks jest laik our old townships…beck in die goie ou dae.
The ‘toon is absolutely right. Folks need to listen to some folks, JEWISH FOLKS, like Jon Stewart, and many Israeli’s opposed to Netanyahu and the continued oppression. Those folks are as embarrassed by Israel’s actions, as we should be about many of our country’s.
Those who TRULY LOVE their countries, or religions, will try to change its faults, and create a better world, with peace, and acceptance.
I find it interesting that so many “critics”, uninformed ones with extreme prejudice themselves, accuse we who DO see more than one side in issues, who DO get accurate and REAL TRUTH, always call US, “haters”…
But I doubt Davefromsonretap will recognise the hypocrisy.
"… totally unreasoning hatred for all Muslims of any sort. "
I found it amazing they cannot recognise that this is hatred and not see its equivalence to anti-Semitism either. One should criticise and condemn all acts of terrorism and violence commited in the name of Islam. However, I often see all Muslims, of all nations, the target of hate-filled invective just because they are Muslim. Likewise Jews. These religious quotes from sacred texts or books….pfft. I mean, Leviticus …need one say more about that book?I’m an atheist, and even I can differentiate nutters from those who follow their religions’ peaceful tenets. I therefore will not blanket-condemn Islam or Judaism or Christianity. I will, however, condemn violent policies aimed at maintaining and re-enforcing this vicious-circle of hatred.Criticism of violent policies does not make me an Islamophobe. I wish folks would stick to criticising the acts. And criticise those who abuse or misuse their religion when they commit atrocities in the name of their religion. It attracts more hatred aimed at all who profess the same faith. And it is hypocrisy when I see these same folks cry “anti-Semite” at anyone who dares criticise Israeli policies. I mean, Jon Stewart, an obvious anti-Semitic. :-|
Dude, do you want to be at least be more accurate when you defame?
‘ISIS has ordered all girls and women between the ages of 11 and 46 in and around Iraq’s northern city of Mosul to undergo female genital mutilation, the U.N. said on Thursday.’ – Al Arabiya News, 24 July 2014
I imagine the above was in reaction to the below:Campaigners at Girl Summit call for end to female genital mutilation
From above article:“Experts tie the practice to specific ethnic groups rather than a particular religion or country.”
And what does this have to do with the conditions in Gaza?See what I mean by attempts to denigrate an entire religion rather than what should be critcised.
OK – three Israeli teens get killed. In retribution, a Muslim teen gets burned alive. Could they just leave it at that? The numbers show that Israelis are much more effective at killing residents of the Gaza Strip than vice versa – right? Why, because the residents of the Gaza Strip are not safe anywhere they go – even three kids playing on a beach? This conflict is clearly insane and efforts on both sides to justify what is happening is very tiresome.

When you have people trying to kill you every day it is kind of hard to just let them run around loose.

Don’t forget the Egyptian, Jordanian, Lebanese-Syrian prison guards.
