Up until the last, she could imagine it being true.As if we manly men don’t clean the house at least once a year whether it needs it or not — well, if it REALLY needs itEventuallysort ofNever mind
Every time Opal feels disappointed about Earl’s appearance or his failure to clean the house like a little maid she needs to first look in a mirror, and then imagine what life would be like living alone, especially at times like holidays or when she’s sick. Sharing your life with another person, even an imperfect person, is much better than waking up to an empty house every morning.
I don’t think women should have to clean up after everybody else, Mackenzie. Why don’t you believe that the man should do his fair share of cleaning, since he contributes equally to the mess?
Some people encourage their spouses to help. They tend to get much help..Others only complain when they don’t and then complain when they try.You usually hear them complaining the spouse no longer bothers to try what will be unacceptable regardless.

Sometimes helping can be nice and appreciated and sometimes it can feel like a criticism.
