What needs updating is actually reverting back to some of the old definitions for what is “legal process”, and alternatives to temporary residence vs immigration. We also need to consider asylum for those fleeing “right wing” dictators, not just the “left wing”, Pinochet for just one example was far worse than Castro.
Must be a Republican congressman. Doesn’t know that the border is more secure than it’s ever been. The kids are not sneaking across without being seen. They’re being caught. Because the border is pretty secure. More border guards is not going to help, and putting the National Guard on permanent diaper-changing duty is not a solution.
