In reality, although president Obama’s ratings are not nearly as high as he would want them, I am sure. His ratings are some four times (or more) as high as those of the tea party led House of Representatives. So if Speaker Boehner wants to really sue anybody, he can always go after the guy in the mirror. In actuality, I sometimes feel sorry for him, it must be like trying to herd hundreds of cats, all determined to go in different directions!!

I don’t think anyone but the right wing is paying much attention to that “worst president” poll — it just shows that Obama is very unpopular with Republicans, while the rest of America is split between the truly awful Bush II, Nixon, and to some extent Reagan. My favorite take on it is Borowitz’s satirical “Americans who think Obama is worst president since World War II also blame him for starting it.”

Not a valid comparison. Harry Truman also had low ratings when he left office. With the perspective of time, historians now rank him seventh best president. It’s difficult to be popular when so many expect you to single-handedly solve the world’s problems.

A poll on a conservative Republican website thinks Obama is bad? Gee whiz, what a discovery. Not exactly Nate Silver here, folks. Move along. One examination of it found generally that Republicans piled all their positive votes on Reagan and negatives on Obama, while Democrats spread their votes more widely. Of course, there were more good Democratic presidents to give their votes to…

Worst since WWII?Well, Truman with Medicare was bad, but still nothing like that Commie FDR with that Social Security BS.So I guess Obama IS the worst since W’s second term.

For some reason people tend to blame the President for all the problems. He really has to operate mostly within the law and does not have a great deal of power. The Congress has the ability to change the laws and really make big changes. The polls are just a way for the talking heads to kill time during the five o’clock news.

Polls showed that Cantor would stomp his opponent in the primary. Polls showed that Romney was going to beat Obama.

Polls showed that Dewey defeated Truman.

Tigger is, as usual, completely wrong. If you take a very simple look at the poll results, more people think Obama is the worst president since WWII. But if you actually look at the poll, you’ll see that Democrats split their votes between two really terrible presidents — W and Nixon — while conservatives all pile on Obama. It is a meaningless “popularity contest” style of poll, and Obama’s actual actions as president make him one of the best we’ve had. Especially when compared to W, Nixon, and even Reagan; all of whom did actual damage to the country.
