I like the way the sound of the mower is covering up what Nate is really thinking in the last panel.

Why didn’t Nate say, “Sure, pay me more and more often and we have a deal.”?

The second to last panel’s very Watterson-esque. Love it.

It looks like that mower doesn’t have those adjusting levers behind the wheels that allow you to raise the machine’s whole deck so you can trim the grass “taller” but it will still look neat. I call it “taking a ’lil off the top” and it’s better for each blade of grass (a rule of thumb is to not cut off ANY more than 1/3 of the blades’ present length at each mow: otherwise you’re hurting each blade’s photosynthesis procedures). TRY explaining that to any lawn-mowing hating kid, who’d just as soon hack the grass down to stubs, hoping to avoid having to mow again anytime soon……

Lincoln, been away for a while. Good to see Nate is fresh and funny as ever.

Nate’s dad wouldn’t do the lawn because he knows the lawn mower will do the same thing to him as to Nate and he doesn’t want to restart it so many times.
