“Jumped the shark” is a reference to the episode that “Happy Days” went bad.

“Jump the Shark” is actually a reference to the show “Happy Days” when Arthur Fonzarelli jumped over a shark tank on water skis. After this episode, the show’s quality began to go downhill. “Jump the Shark” is an idiom for when something becomes unpopular.
