Wars are messy. Geting out of wars is messy. What we’re not hearing is are the alternatives to the swap for Bergdahl, any better..Wars are ugly. Wars can destroy the survivors as well as the dead. Was Bergdahl a crass deserter, or was he a maladjusted young man with mental problems who should never have been there and perhaps was not able to make rational decisions? I find it interesting that his “buddies” are piling on, and they are the ones who Bergdahl found offensive for committing various attrocities against the civilian population. Perhaps his buddies find it advisable to demonize him for his actions rather than answer for their own actions..Much truth to be found here, which will be difficult with all the confusion, second-guessing, Monday morning quarterbacking, partisanship, lying, hatrid for Obama, positioning for the next election, and sheer complexity of the situation. .I wonder if its possible for everyone to take a deep breath, back off, and let those responsible for winding down the war and who have the best information do their job. .Then everyone resolve never to get into such a stupid, destructive, deadly, and expensive situation again.
echoRush: stop using his numbers! None are so blind as to “ditto” false information. We’ve gained back the jobs lost by Bush policies, the stock market is at a new record level, durable goods production is up, car sales are up, house prices are up, and selling. NO, we’re certainly not over the disaster shipping our jobs overseas, and yes, automation, have wrought on the job market, but it IS getting better, despite Republican obstructionism.
