The real problem is both sides are focused on getting re-elected and keeping their influential positions rather that actually solving the important, difficult problems that need to be addressed.
Californians and New Yorkers rarely complain about supporting poor red states, many of which are suffering under misguided Republican government. But the Red states do nothing but complain that their taxes are too high, despite the fact that they depend very heavily on taxes from blue states, who are generally better off, due largely to better policy decisions made by Democrats. This is not partisan speculation. It’s the facts on the ground. Mississippi is about to elect a senator who has sworn to cut Federal spending, despite the fact that 43% of the income of Mississippians comes straight from the Federal Government.
Minimum wage jobs are for part-time students and unskilled entry-level workers.Once the students graduate, they will then get a job that is more than minimum wage.Unskilled Entry-level workers will either receive a pay raise through hard work or will procure another job based on their experience.NOT A SINGLE WALMART EMPLOYEE IS PAID MINIMUM WAGE!That’s right, the supposedly “greediest, most exploitive company in the world” pays more than minimum wage.Companies pay more for dependable employees since it’s actually cheaper than having high turnover.Companies that don’t are constantly losing employees since those workers realize they can earn more. These are basic truths in Capitalism and if you don’t like those truths, there are plenty of socialist countries that will take you.
