If getting up early is too much trouble perhaps she could stay up really late…

Our paper is delivered at 3am, by a guy with a 1500 house route.

You’ve got to be kidding! How many papers was he delivering? By bicycle or did he pull a wagon? I guess you must live in a really safe neighborhood to let a 7 year old out by himself every day.
When I was in high school I delivered 40-60 papers 7 days per week and only cleared $5-10 per week.

I remember my big sister having a crush on the paper boy when she was in junior high school (almost 60 years ago).

What time of day does he come around to get paid?
Olddog1 almost 10 years ago
Delivers at 6AM. You’re not up yet.Isn’t that redundant?

My 2nd stepson had a paper route about 20 years ago, but it was in a townhouse community. He delivered to about 5 courts, starting at 5 am. I believe he had the route from age 12 to 14. Now, in a different neighborhood of separate houses, we have an overweight, middle aged man deliver in a beat up suv.

Newspapers have become irrelevant with all their partisan blather! Sooooo…. does that mean we are all about to become irrelevant with our own personal partisan blather? Because, you know, our side (whichever side that may be) is always right and the opposing view is always wrong, right?

Paperboys (and girls) disappeared from around here 25 – 30 years ago in favor of the middle-aged in minivans who used it as a second job. Now they’re gone entirely because there’s no newspaper to deliver. (The local is gone; the two metros exist but no longer deliver out to us (50 miles)).

This might be the thing to get Holly out of bed on time.

Our paper “boy” is a man driving a van who throws the paper from his window. Sometimes he actually makes it to your lawn with the paper.
