He is not to be treated like a common dog.

Spotty never chased sticks either. Now the core of a softball and a section of a tire inner tube were right up his alley. Snoopy would have looked down on Spotty. Though he may have said a eulogy at his funeral.

Been almost twenty years and I still miss that dog.

My cat always had a similar reaction to my rolling a ball for him. “Oh, how droll…you chase it.” Or he would push it under a cabinet, in hopes he could watch me fish it out so he could do it again.

I had a cat who LOVED to play fetch…especially on a staircase! If the ball stopped before hitting the bottom, she would knock it back into play until it hit the bottom, then and only then would she pick it up and bring it back to me.

@KC – I’ve had several cats who were crazy about fetch also, lots of fun.

Snoopy continuing the time-honoured tradition of teaching the two-legs to play fetch.

I bought a frizzbe to play with my dog. There were instructions on the package about how to train your dog to play frizbee.

I had a golden retriever. The training consisted of “throw frisbee.”

My brother’s dog fetches sticks; however, she won’t return it back to you. She runs off with it and retains it for safe keeping.

For those who say: I could care less, notice the word NOT in the last panel.

Snoopy is no ordinary dog. Clearly not everyone knows that.

There was a dog in our neighborhood in Florida that would play fetch with ripe/rotten/broken oranges. The mooshier the better. Daisy would insist that you throw the orange for her. Me, the clueless human, kept trying to get her to play fetch with a “cleaner” orange. No luck. She would only fetch the one she brought you. Good ol’ Daisy….

@Snoopy_FanHello! Thank you for your supportive comment on Saturday. There were about 7 people going for that apprenticeship but they could only pick one because there was only one vacancy. So that means 6 people got rejected, me being one of them.-I’ll keep you updated on everything. I may even have some good news to share in the future. Let’s hope.-I am pleased your 4th of July was a great one. I was thinking of you on that day wondering if you were celebrating.-This week was a whole lot better for me. -When I mentioned you in my first post on Peanuts, I knew you would like it and I want you to know that I appreciated you mentioning me on Pearls Before Swine yesterday! That was very sweet.-Take care of yourself. May you have a blessed weekend.

Then there’s this notion of “sarcasm.” Roughly speaking, it involves saying the OPPOSITE of what you mean, as if you sincerely believe it, while at the same time conveying with your voice and other nonverbal cues that you really DON’T believe it. It’s rather tricky to detect, especially if you aren’t adept at picking up the subtle cues.
